The mining sector has been exploring and generating a high volume of waste that is that cause
of several environmental problems in the world, especially in Brazil. Thus, it is increasingly
necessary to search for new alternatives for the use of these wastes to minimize the impacts
generated by their disposal. One of these applications is the use in the manufacture of soilcement brick or ecological brick. The objective of this study is to analyze the feasibility of the
physical characteristics of bauxite tailings for total replacement of the soil in the manufacture
of ecological bricks, combining low cost and sustainability. The research methodology was
quantitative using the case study approach. Regarding the nature, the study is of applied nature,
being exploratory research. The results revealed that the mixture between the studied waste in
the proportion of 1:1 meets the physical parameters that enabled its use in the manufacture of
soil-cement bricks. |
