Food and Nutritional Security ( FNS ) is a concept that is being discussed wordwide,
defined by a multiplicity of indicators of human well-being and quality of life. The
Amazon region with rich biodiversity and food variety shoud presente high levels of
food security, but research carried out indicates a nutritional déficit. The objective of
this study was to understand aspects of Food and Nutritional (in) security in the
Amazon, through a theoretical review of scientific articles, where twelve articles
relating to food security in the Amazon region were selected. The results found
indicate that EBIA was the predominant evaluation method in 33.3% of studies, being
used in conjunction with other evalution methods. An association was observed
between AI and lower income, lower education, housing, poor sanitation, food
availability and number of residentes greater than five people, in addition, seasonality
and food consumption patterns were included. SAN ranged from 10.9% to 65.37%.
IAL from 20,65% to 33.58%, AMI from 7.96% to 20.0% and IAG/S from 6,02% to
44.6% in the studies. Therefore, it is concluded that several economic, social and
environmental factors have contributed to food (in) security in the amazon region. |
