Resumo:
The objective of this work was to verify the teaching strategies used by teachers in public elementary school in the city of Santarém/PA during the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. The study refers to a qualitative research conducted through the application of an online questionnaire composed of eight questions (Appendix). The data were analyzed through a questionnaire available on the online platform (Google Forms) and with face-toface visits in fifteen municipal and/or state schools between September 6 and September 29, 2002. The target audience for the research was teachers, of science and/or biology, working during the onset of the Covid-19, 2020 and 2021 pandemic. The data obtained were analyzed using descriptive statistics. A total of 30 teachers responded to the questionnaire, among them, the age group of 41 to 50 years was the most predominant (54%). School activities were suspended and students studied remotely (72%) and (19%) in the form of hybrid teaching. The planning of lessons and pedagogical activities to reinforce the lessons was supported by the pedagogical team (55%). It was observed that the main activities to support the classes with the greatest predominance were through WhatsApp groups (77%). The way the students' progress and/or difficulties were recorded was through written activities, sent online, representing (60%). About the main challenge of the pedagogical work and the changes in the teaching activities, (42%) of the teachers answered that it was the use of digital technologies, followed by Internet access with (29%). It is concluded that the main challenges faced were related to the use of digital technologies, since many students do not have computers, cell phones, or Internet access in their homes, which possibly generated a lack of interest among students, which probably compromised their learning performance in this period.
