This bachelor’s degree dissertation has as its theme and title Studying the history of a quilombo is a way of resisting: Murumurutuba-PA case study. Oral history is present in the memory of the quilombolas, unrecorded stories that are only known internally by a few. The main objective of this work is to transform oral histories into written stories, told by us quilombolas, from our point of view on the formation and struggles of our territory. The research was developed from a bibliographic survey and interviews with the oldest members of the community. The results obtained were the construction of memory maps of the main sectors of the community that formed the quilombo and genealogies of some people in order to arrive at the names mentioned as the first residents. As the community has been growing and forming new sectors, people from other places are coming to live in the quilombo and recognizing themselves as a quilombola. This work is a way of bringing results back to the community, and showing that we have been here for a long time, occupying the territory that is rightfully ours. |
