The objective of this work was to evaluate the sensory quality, bromatological composition and
dry matter recovery of acerola residue silage with moisture sequestrant additives: corn, rice and
wheat bran. A completely randomized experimental design was used, with four treatments and
five replications, respectively: T1- acerola residue silage; T2- acerola residue silage with 20%
of corn bran; T3- acerola residue silage with 20% rice bran; T4- Acerola residue silage with
20% of wheat bran. The means of the variables were subjected to analysis of variance and
compared using the Tukey test. The acerola residues were homogenized in a container and
compacted manually with wooden sockets in PVC laboratory silos, then closed and weighed.
At 30 days after ensiling, the silos were again weighed and opened, in order to evaluate dry
matter and recovery of dry matter, after being opened, the first 5cm of silages were discarded,
to later carry out the evaluations: sensory analysis for sanitary and nutritional aspects,
determination of dry matter, mineral and organic, and neutral and acid detergent fiber. The good
quality of the silage was confirmed through sensory analysis. Therefore, silages using moisturesequestering
additives, in addition to demonstrating good fermentation, enabled an increase in
dry matter and CP in all treatments, indicating good nutritional value. However, the high levels
of NDF can make the consumption of acerola waste silage unfeasible. |
