The general goal of this project consisted of analyzing in what level are the curricular and teaching (in)adequacies in what concerns the teaching of the Portuguese Language on the 9th year of the Fundamental Teaching II (equivalent to freshman year of high school) in three schools of the city’s public districts in the municipality of Santarém-PA. The specific goals of this research are: discuss the legal, pedagogical, and didactic context of the curriculum of the researched schools in what refers to the teaching of the Portuguese Language; identify the methodological tools used by the Portuguese professors. In face of this, field research had the following problematic: how is the teaching of the Portuguese Language providing moments that allow the construction of knowledge, if the subjects that start the movement of the teaching-learning axis, are, most likely, on the wrong way? And to what point do the probable curricular (in)adequacies of these subjects hurt or guarantee the learning rights of the students? presente trabalho de pesquisa visa contribuir para que reflexões acerca do ensino de Língua Portuguesa sejam feitas seguindo o eixo leitura-escrita-oralidade e para tanto seguiu os seguintes encaminhamentos metodológicos: suporte teórico que consistiu na pesquisa e estudo teórico acerca de trabalhos já desenvolvidos sobre o tema e estudo empírico que se desdobrou em cinco etapas, que foram elas: Formalização da pesquisa; Leitura e análise do Plano de Ensino do município de Santarém-Pará; Leitura e análise dos Projetos Políticos Pedagógicos das escolas observadas; Aplicação dos questionários às professoras observadas; Observação não-participante. O objetivo geral deste trabalho consistiu em analisar em que medida estão às (in)adequações curriculares e docentes no que se referem ao ensino de Língua Portuguesa no 9º ano do Fundamental II em três escolas da rede municipal de ensino do município de Santarém - Pará. Já os objetivos específicos são: Discutir o contexto legal, pedagógico e didático dos Currículos das escolas pesquisadas no que se referem ao ensino de Língua Portuguesa; Observar professores e suas práticas para que estas fossem analisadas até que ponto encontram-se na contramão com as diretrizes e documentos que postulam e regem o ensino de Língua Portuguesa; Identificar os instrumentos metodológicos e didáticos utilizados pelos professores de Língua Portuguesa. Diante disso foi-se a campo com a seguinte problemática: Como o ensino de Língua Portuguesa está proporcionando momentos que possibilitem a construção do conhecimento, se os sujeitos que iniciam o movimento do eixo ensino-aprendizagem, encontram-se, provavelmente, na contramão?
