Among many other factors, this is because the former provides structural support to the latter. However, when they are worked as curriculum components, in undergraduate courses, mathematics classes are usually taught as if there were no connection to physics. Based on this assumption, this work aims to use a teaching strategy for the student to understand physical phenomena from mathematical themes, relating the knowledge learned in class with the real world, thus teaching crosses the barrier of four walls that delimits the traditional classroom. This teaching strategy was based on the works of Bunge and it is called modeling method and to enable its application in the teaching-learning process, Lev Vygotsky's theory of learning was used. To verify the efficiency of the method, it was applied in a class of the first semester of the undergraduate degree in Science and Technology, in which Mathematics and Physics are presented in much of the curriculum. The research took a qualitative approach and was designed as a case study, thus the data were collected through observations, interviews, reports and video and photo records. Through the data analysis it was possible to verify that the research objectives were reached, corroborating the hypothesis initially raised that the didactical proposal would facilitate learning of Physics and Mathematics. These results made it possible to infer that teaching from the perspective of modeling enables students not only to understand physical phenomena, but to solve real problems involving physics through models. From the research, an Educational Product was built to guide teachers who intend to use the modeling method in their classes. Entre muitos outros fatores, isso ocorre devido à primeira fornecer sustentação estruturante à segunda. No entanto, quando elas são trabalhadas como componentes curriculares, em cursos de graduação geralmente as aulas de Matemática são ministradas como se não houvesse nenhuma conexão com a Física. Partindo desse pressuposto, este trabalho tem o objetivo de utilizar uma estratégia de ensino para o aluno compreender fenômenos físicos a partir de temas da Matemática, relacionando o conhecimento aprendido nas aulas com mundo real, desse modo o ensino transpõe a barreira das quatro paredes que delimita a sala de aula tradicional. Essa estratégia de ensino foi fundamentada nas obras de Bunge e é denominada método de modelagem, e para viabilizar sua aplicação no processo ensino aprendizagem foi utilizada a teoria de aprendizagem de Lev Vygotsky. Para verificar a eficiência do método, ele foi aplicado em uma turma do primeiro semestre do curso de graduação em Bacharelado em Ciência e Tecnologia, no qual a Matemática e Física estão presentes em boa parte da grade curricular. A pesquisa teve uma abordagem qualitativa e foi delineada como estudo de caso, desse modo os dados coletados foram por meio de observações, entrevistas, relatórios e registros de vídeos e fotografias. A partir da análise dos dados foi possível verificar que os objetivos da pesquisa foram alcançados, o que corroborou a hipótese inicialmente levantada de que a proposta didática norteada pela modelagem matemática facilitaria a aprendizagem de Matemática e de Física. Esses resultados possibilitaram inferir que o ensino na perspectiva da modelagem possibilita os alunos não somente compreender fenômenos físicos, mas resolver problemas reais envolvendo a Física por meio de modelos.
