Resumo:
From the 90’s on, it is possible to highlight in Brazil that the issues which comprehend the organization and implementation of educational policies for teachers’ background concerning the public basic education have been considerably intensified, where such background intends to minimize problems regarding school failure in order to improve teaching quality, and furthermore, value these professionals .This way, this paper is inserted in the qualitative approach for data analysis. It has as a general objective to analyze the National Plan of Teachers’ Background concerning Basic Education (PARFOR) as an educational policy of the Education Ministry (MEC) for teaching background and its implementation process at the Universidade Federal do Oeste do Pará (Ufopa) in front of the demand regarding professional training in Monte Alegre town, aiming its operating mode , goals and intentions , as well as its coverage area concerning the teaching background in the period of 2010 – 2014. As analytical references the bibliographic production about the theme, the PARFOR regulatory rules, the available information at the electronic website which manages the process of teachers’ registration and selection – Platform Freire, the questionnaires and surveys applied to the PARFOR coordinators in Santarém and Monte Alegre cities and to the Education Secretary of Monte Alegre city were used .From this analysis , it was possible to highlight the features in the implementation process concerning this Plan at this University, its limits and possibilities ,successes and weaknesses , as it was possible to obtain quantitative data which show this Plan achievement concerning teachers’ background / training who deal with the public Basic Education in the west region of Pará.
