The Fair Trade as a development strategy counts among its certification criteria, with the principle of equality between men and women. Among the strengths to realize this criterion are the organization of women as a basis for their development, awareness of gender equality, access to resources and identification of women with economic issues. The work is a preliminary and general investigation that aims to collaborate in the subsequent development of studies of gender and consumption. We seek through the statements of this work, to offer a theoretical and updated view of the incorporation of the gender perspective in the field of commerce. In this sense, it’s necessary to be guided by a feminist vision to distinguish the concepts of international trade in the traditional and alternative scope. Research is aligned according to gender criteria to gradually introduce the concerns of sociological, political and economic debate about the role of women in Fair Trade |
