Resumo:
Rural education represents a transformation in the education model, not only due to the change in nomenclature, but also due to its proposal, respecting the subject in which it is inserted. However, much to be improved, in view of this scenario seeking to study how teachers working in rural education in municipal schools in the Ajuruxi region in the municipality of Mazagão deal with the challenges of the profession, a study was carried out. The research is of a quanti- qualitative nature and the interview was used as a method of data collection. 15 teachers were interviewed representing one school each, it is noteworthy that the participants were informed about the study and use of information, through the free and informed consent term. as a result of the research there is: multiseries education, the lack of didactic resources and pedagogical support, the physical structure of schools and the lack of transportation to move to their workplaces, as challenges to overcome. Thus, it is concluded that one of the challenges is to teach with little or no assistance in the theoretical, methodological and didactic-pedagogical scope
