The main interest in the creation of the Reserve is the possibility of the residents of these areas to live according to their way of life, however, its implation brings changes in social and environmental relations due to the legal-administrative structure that the Reserve presents. Thus, using a methodological approach to bibliographical research and field research, this research analyzed how users appropriated the Extractive Reserve category in their territory, and in a specific way, how local social actions were undertaken in the process of creation and implementation of the RESEX researched: the Marine Extraction Reserve Mãe Grande de Curuçá - PA. Mãe Grande has its specific context about the coastal and marine zone of Pará, its appropriation by the users, related to the benefits of housing and development granted by federal government policies, and the Reserve presents, as one of its main challenges, the strengthening and mobilization of the community base, through the support of local leaders to collectively exercise the management of the Unit. As Reservas Extrativistas constituem uma política pública ambiental originada por um processo de luta social em busca de relações justas e equilibradas em territórios tradicionais. O principal interesse na criação da Reserva é a possibilidade dos moradores dessas áreas viverem conforme seus modos de vida, contudo, sua implatanção traz mudanças nas relações sociais e ambientais em virtude da estrutura jurídico-administrativa que a Reserva apresenta. Assim, utilizando-se metodologicamente de levantamento bibliográfico e de pesquisas de campo, esta pesquisa analisou como os usuários se apropriam da categoria Reserva Extrativista em seu território, e de modo específico, como foram empreendidas as ações sociais locais no processo de criação e implementação da RESEX pesquisada: a Reserva Extrativista Marinha Mãe Grande de Curuçá - PA. A Mãe Grande tem seu contexto específico sobre a zona costeira e marinha do Pará, sua apropriação, pelos usuários, relacionasse aos benefícios de habitação e fomento concedidos por políticas do governo federal, e a Reserva apresenta, como um dos seus principais desafios, o fortalecimento e mobilização da base comunitária, através do apoio das lideranças locais para exercer coletivamente a gestão da Unidade. 2019-02-26T18:23:24Z 2019-02-26T18:23:24Z 2018-03-22 Dissertação LUCCA, Luana Lopes De.
