Resumo:
This work contextualizes the processes of regional development of tourism in the Pan- Amazon, considering that government actions specific to the region, and especially to the border between Brazil and French Guiana. In order to allow the understanding of the sociocultural and economic dynamics in the study area, it was important to discuss concepts of frontier development and tourism. Still, we analyzed the governmental actions of tourism to the region and compared these with the other shares of regional development, aiming to reveal the possibilities for the border, and how tourism can contribute to the processes of development and cooperation. Thereby, it was important to characterize the area through methodological procedures of comparative analysis, we compared the actions of government tourism in Brazil and French Guiana, as well as the actions of cooperation in tourism, using the techniques of anthropology visual and ethnographic present in order to understand the dynamics between communities, and interviews with government officials, businessmen and communities. Finally, we analyzed what kind of tourism is characteristic of border regions by making a theoretical analysis of studies conducted at the borders of South America, North America and Europe in order to answer the argument that claim is true or not the type and concept - Tourism Boundary, and is it possible to development regional tourism
