Methodologically, reflection starts from the perception of the landscape represented by arpilleras not only by the iconographic aesthetics of the image, but as an imaginary narrative, which is subjectively articulated by arpilleristas women, is a product of the collective imaginary, and thus materializes through discourse Ideological resistance to the impacts caused by the enterprise. As a way to guide the reflection of the image understood as narrative and memory product, this study is based on the theoretical-methodological articulation of authors that approach the subject of: Imagem fotográfica como método etnográfico como Guran (2011); O imaginário coletivo por Maffesoli (2001); A memória coletiva por Halbwachs (1968). The analysis makes the possibility to perceive the image that the arpilleristas women affected by the Belo Monte Hydroelectric Plant seek to explain about the process of implantation of hydroelectric plants in the Amazon from the social representation, and the reasons that justify the creative use of the art by images as language strategy and communication. Este trabalho trata de uma reflexão acerca dos impactos socioambientais decorrentes do processo de implantação de hidrelétricas na Amazônia, através de uma técnica de bordado chileno de confecção de tela de tecidos, produzidas e expostas por mulheres atingidas pela UHE Belo Monte (PA). Metodologicamente, a reflexão parte da percepção da paisagem representada por arpilleras 4 não apenas pela estética iconográfica da imagem, mas como narrativa imagética, a qual é articulada subjetivamente pelas mulheres arpilleristas, constitui produto do imaginário coletivo, e deste modo, materializa-se através do discurso ideológico figurativo de resistência aos impactos causados pelo empreendimento. Como forma de nortear a reflexão da imagem compreendida como narrativa e produto de memória, este estudo fundamenta-se a partir da articulação teórico-metodológica de autores que abordam a temática da: Imagem fotográfica como método etnográfico como Guran (2011); O imaginário coletivo por Maffesoli (2001); A memória coletiva por Halbwachs (1968). A análise possibilita perceber a imagem que as mulheres arpilleristas atingidas pela UHE Belo Monte buscam explicitar acerca do processo de implantação de hidrelétricas na Amazônia a partir da representação social, e dos motivos que justificam a disposição criativa de utilização da arte por imagens como estratégia de linguagem e comunicação.
