In this text, the constitution and potential of public spaces are analyzed, specifically, two squares, of community initiative, built with scraps, for children's games, as well as for interrelationships between adults. The research is anchored in the qualitative approach and the data were collected through the application of a questionnaire (online), via e-mail, to two citizens, creators of the playful/community squares. The analysis showed that the squares built with scrap toys at the initiative of the residents, in spaces relegated by the public management of the municipality of Jequié – BA, are constituted, first, as a place of inventiveness, authenticity and citizen protagonism, so that all: children, teenagers, young adults and the elderly, conceive the space as part of themselves, in addition to enhancing collective exchanges and learning, through community events, games and children's games Este trabalho é um recorte da pesquisa “O suco da sucata”, que investiga a potencialidade dos materiais não estruturados, para produção de brinquedos e brincadeiras para as crianças, em espaços públicos da cidade de Jequié – BA. Neste texto, analisa-se a constituição e potencialidade dos espaços públicos, especificamente, duas praças, de iniciativa comunitária, construídas com sucatas, para as brincadeiras das crianças, bem como para interrelações entre os adultos. A pesquisa ancora-se na abordagem qualitativa sendo que os dados foram levantados por meio de aplicação de questionário (online), via e-mail, a duas cidadãs, idealizadoras de praças de cunho lúdico/comunitário. A análise evidenciou que as praças construídas com brinquedos de sucatas por iniciativa dos moradores, em espaços relegados pela gestão pública do município de Jequié – BA se constituem, primeiramente, como um lugar de inventividade, de autenticidade e protagonismo cidadão, a fim de que todos: crianças, adolescentes jovens adultos e idosos, concebam o espaço como parte de si, além de potencializar as trocas e aprendizagens coletivas, por meio de eventos comunitários, jogos e brincadeiras infantis. 2021-03-25T00:10:14Z 2021-03-25T00:10:14Z 2020-12 Artigo de Periódico CARDOSO, Marilete Calegari; SOUZA, Ana Lúcia Santos.
