The research field, that is, the Casa de Plácido, was built around actions that characterizes the dynamics of the testimonies, that is, narratives of pilgrimages, healings, graces and miracles. The assumption is that testimonies of miracles are part of a social process, of a religious view of the world that helps to configure and understand the local culture. For this reason, the theoretical instrument chosen for this analysis is the hermeneutics of Paul Ricoeur's testimony, which is a theory to interpret as the testimony of a religious nature and its social meanings expressed in the testimonial narratives of the devotees. CAPES - Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior O presente trabalho é um estudo sobre o catolicismo popular presente em Belém do Pará em um exercício de analisar elementos do imaginário social dos devotos da Virgem de Nazaré a partir dos elementos observados nas narrativas de milagres que assumem a forma de testemunhos, dos quais se faz uma abordagem hermenêutica. O campo de pesquisa foi a Casa de Plácido, e foi construído em torno de ações que caracterizam a dinâmica dos testemunhos, ou seja, narrativas de romarias, curas, graças e milagres. O pressuposto é que testemunhos de milagres fazem parte de um processo social, de uma visão religiosa do mundo que ajuda a configurar e compreender a cultura local. Por isso, o instrumental teórico escolhido para esta análise é a hermenêutica do testemunho de Paul Ricoeur, que é uma teoria para interpretar como o testemunho de cunho religioso e seus significados sociais são expressos nas narrativas testemunhais dos devotos.
