This paper discusses the Youth and Adult Education [YAEd] teaching modality considering the theoretical, research and structuring approaches to the undergraduate program in Education (Pedagogy Course). It also examines the construction of a thematic to subsidize teachers’ education for Youth and Adult Education by addressing questions relative to the understanding of the relations
between the study and the theoretical and methodological assumptions about teachers’
education such as: what are the theoretical grounds of YAEd, and how does its management structure look like within the Brazilian educational system? When/how does Youth and Adult Education take place? What does it entice? What project does it offer to formal education? Does teachers’ training for Youth and Adult Education take into consideration the social, economic, political, and cultural realities of students? How should teachers’ education for YAEd be provided within the Amazonian reality?
Therefore, the debate proceeds based upon theoretical contributions to the YAEd teaching modality and within the context of the State University of Pará Pedagogy Course in order to identify the importance and the need of addressing regional and local issues in the processes related to teachers’ education for Youth and Adult Education. |
