To investigate this object, we assume as a problem the following question: young people from Colony of Artisanal Fisher Z-16 from Cametá- Pa, who made technical course on aquaculture offered by the Integrated Center of the Lower Tocantins Education (CIEBT - Cametá) and today keeps a relationship with the world's fisheries work, use the systematized knowledge and skills in such a course as training elements of fishing identity, strengthening this identity to relate this knowledge to the knowledge produced and learned in the fisheries every day? Methodologically this research was characterized as qualitative, study type of case, assuming the dialectical historical materialism as an epistemological basis and the content analysis and data assessment tool. As a result, the empirical data showed that: a) the fishing youth here investigated, to understand the fishing work as a difficult nature activity, painful and demanding, sought in the alternative course of Aquaculture others that could enable them to make the sacrifices and the hardness of this work, while so to acquire new knowledge, techniques and course practices were changing not only the work in common performed, but also their own ways to recognize, understand and identify what revealed these people b) They are no longer to be recognized as the only fisher and exclusively from the knowledge that empirically built in the daily dealing with fishing, but also from the body of knowledge, which sought and acquired the technical course of Aquaculture that today are present in their activities, modifying and transforming their work processes and, consequently, their subjectivities and identities. And it is as a result of this change of subjectivities and identities c) the course of Aquaculture, for young fishers, shown as a qualification not for the labor market, but rather for life. CAPES - Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior A presente dissertação tem como objeto de investigação a formação da identidade pescadora de jovens afiliados na Colônia de Pescadores Artesanais Z-16 de Cametá- Pa que concluíram o curso técnico de Aquicultura ofertado pelo Centro Integrado de Educação do Baixo Tocantins (CIEBT- Cametá). Para investigarmos esse objeto, assumimos como problema o seguinte questionamento: os jovens da Colônia de Pescadores Artesanais Z- 16 de Cametá- Pa, que fizeram curso técnico de Aquicultura oferecido pelo Centro Integrado de Educação do Baixo Tocantins (CIEBT – Cametá) e hoje mantem uma relação com o mundo do trabalho da pesca, utilizam os conhecimentos sistematizados e adquiridos em tal curso como elementos de formação da identidade pescadora, potencializando tal identidade ao relacionar esses conhecimentos aos saberes produzidos e aprendidos no cotidiano da pesca? Metodologicamente a presente pesquisa foi caracterizada como sendo qualitativa, do tipo estudo de caso, assumindo o materialismo histórico dialético como base epistemológica e a análise de conteúdo como instrumento de apreciação dos dados. Como resultado, os dados empíricos demostraram que: a) a juventude pescadora aqui investigada, ao entender o trabalho da pesca como sendo uma atividade de natureza difícil, penosa e exigente, buscou no curso de Aquicultura alternativas outras que lhes pudessem permitir transformar os sacrifícios e a dureza desse trabalho, ao passo que assim, ao adquirirem os novos conhecimentos, técnicas e práticas do curso, foram transformando não só o trabalho que em comum executavam, mas também as suas próprias maneiras de se reconhecer, perceber e se identificar, o que revelou que esses sujeitos b) não mais estão a se reconhecer enquanto pescadores única e exclusivamente a partir dos saberes que empiricamente construíram no trato cotidiano com a pesca, mas também, a partir do conjunto de conhecimentos, que buscados e adquiridos no curso técnico de Aquicultura, hoje se fazem presentes em suas atividades, modificando e transformando seus processos de trabalho e, consequentemente, suas subjetividades e identidades.
