It’s been investigated spatial solutions in the production of housing in the urban context, adopting as a study case the area of Vila da Barca in Belém-PA to spatial patterns of spontaneous production and the formal production of housing in the area. The strategy defines the investigation of configurational parameters of the geometric nature of architectural space in recurrent spontaneous production of housing observed in the design of the floor plan for comparison between the types of housing as stilt-type, townhouse of formal production by the existence of the "Conflict Architectural" the solutions adopted for the analysis of three aspects: transitional spaces between the house and the street, the shape and size of the living spaces and housing internal distribution by the study of movement, the latter supplemented with topological analysis using maps generated by the Program Dephtmap. The results show the architectural conflict between spontaneous and formal production of housing, confirming the stilt-type as an important reference in the experience of the riverside residents without remains, however, as a reference in terms of formal production of housing in architectural design.
