This paper aims to present a report of the experience of the Mathematics Club Subproject of the Mathematical Applications Laboratory (LAPMAT), linked to the Institutional Program for Teaching Initiation Scholarship (PIBID) of the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES) at the Federal University of Western Pará (UFOPA), in the period from August 2018 to February 2020. For the realization of this work, the game of "roulette of algebraic equations" was selected, an activity carried out in 2019 in classes of the final years of Elementary School and the last year of High School in a school of the state public network in Santarém-PA, by the Mathematics Improvement Program (PAM), one of the actions within the Math Club of UFOPA, seeking to prepare students for the tests of the System for Evaluation of Basic Education (SAEB) and the Brazilian Mathematical Olympiad of public schools (OBMEP). The activity presented here takes into account the studies of international authors who deal with teaching and learning processes, theory/practice and teacher training, such as Tardif (2012), Nóvoa (2009) and Shulman (2005), along with the records made in reports and reflective diaries from on-site observation. With the application of this activity, we could put into practice the knowledge and acquire experiences that contributed to a new profile as a future teacher.
