The objective is to study the social and environmental impact that the installation of mining is causing and from a critical and emancipatory understand how the state, society and business are related and what interests are served. The theoretical construction of this work takes as a foundation for discussion of environmental complexity, environmental education in environmental management, development processes in Amazonia, democracy and modes of production, together with these elements that the discussion of the logic of capital. The mining company has to change production methods and habits of a significant part of local people to understand that the methodology was the lifting of quantitative and qualitative data, which were constructed from interviews with local actors, information collected through institutions working with statistical data and literature surveys for the construction of the theoretical discussion together with the reports that were presented in the media. The analysis of the indicators presented by the company and its program of environmental education were two important instruments for the analysis of work, because it is possible to see how weak the process of building a real alternative to improving the lives of people where the lack of governance and straightforward way to ensure governance dictate orders. The completion of the work shows that the social and environmental impact caused by the company significantly changed the lives of local people, their habits, their customs, their mode of production. Promoted the increase of diseases and injuries caused by poisonous animals, caused the swelling of the headquarters of the city and that so far the measures the company took in March of mitigation are small impacts, such as improving the selective collection of solid waste. O presente trabalho tem como objeto de estudo as relações que passaram se construir a partir da instalação da Mina de Extração de Bauxita pela Empresa Alcoa no município de Juruti. O objetivo do trabalho é estudar os programas ambientais e o contexto da educação ambiental na mineração ALCOA no município de Juruti no Estado do Pará e o respectivo impacto socioambiental que a instalação da mineradora vem causando.A partir de uma visão crítica e emancipatória entender como o estado, a sociedade e a empresa se relacionam e quais os interesses que são atendidos. A construção teórica do presente trabalho toma como alicerce da discussão a complexidade ambiental,a educação ambiental na gestão ambiental,os processos de desenvolvimento na Amazônia,a democracia e os modos de produção,em conjunto com estes elementos esta o debate da lógica do capital. A mineradora vem mudar os modos de produção e os hábitos de parte significativa da população local, para entender isso a metodologia utilizada foi a do levantamento de dados quantitativos e qualitativos, que foram construídos a partir de entrevista com atores locais, informações coletadas através de instituições que trabalham com dados estatísticos e levantamentos bibliográficos para a construção da discussão teórica em conjunto com as reportagens que foram veiculadas na imprensa. A analise dos indicadores apresentados pela empresa e seu programa de educação ambiental foram dois importantes instrumentos para a análise do trabalho, pois permitiu ver o quanto fica debilitado o processo de construção de uma alternativa real para a melhoria da vida da população quando a falta de governança e a pura e simples maneira de garantir a governabilidade ditam as ordens. A conclusão do trabalho aponta que o impacto socioambiental causado pela empresa modificou significativamente a vida da população local, os seus hábitos, seus costumes, seu modo de produção.
