We found a total of three families, 18 genera and 42 species. Six of the genera found were collected in the forest and also in cages, 10 were only found in the forest and one was exclusive to poultry. The genre that had the largest number of species was Nasutitermes, with 13 species, 8 the density of nests was greater in open areas. The diversity of termites in the park seems to be too large, as possibly the is throughout the Amazon, which is still little studied. At least should not be lower than a study area near Bryan, state of Amazonas. A diversidade e a distribuição de cupins foram estudadas no Parque Nacional da Amazônia, entre ambientes de floresta primária e áreas abertas. Foi encontrado um total de três famílias, 18 gêneros e 42 espécies. Seis dos gêneros encontrados foram coletados na floresta e também em capoeiras, 10 foram encontrados somente na floresta e um foi exclusivo da capoeira. A diversidade na floresta foi maior, como era esperado, porém o tempo de coletas nesse habitat foi maior que nas áreas abertas, assim não se pode comparar com mais precisão a diversidade dos dois tipos de formação vegetal. O gênero que apresentou maior número de espécies foi Nasutitermes, com 13 espécies, 8 a densidade de seus ninhos era maior nas áreas abertas. A diversidade de cupins no Parque parece ser muito grande, como possivelmente o é em toda a Amazônia, que ainda é pouco estudada.
