The monotypic genus Uromacerina Amaral, 1930, was only known in the States of Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Parana and Rio Grande do Sul. The occurrence of u. ricardini (Peracca, 1897) in the eastern Amazon fundamentally changes its geographical distribution and strengthens the concepts about the distribution of disjoint species by means of climatic cycles and past vegetation.
