This article focuses on some aspects related to the Amerindian cultural heritage deposited in museums and ethnographic collections. It discusses linkages between notions of property, rights, identities, affiliations, which influence the politics of difference and of recognition demanded by Amerindians and in which the heritage present in museums has an important role to play. The article also highlights aspects on the prospects for documentation and access to the collections, which remain essential for the renewal of interactive practices in museums. The Amazonian Museum Network program
(MAR) is examined as it brings together four museums in eastern Amazonia and as it essentially aims to make available its collections and the positive effects that this activity can generate in order to expand and deepen intercultural dialogue in museological spaces. |
