Inserted in the Project Natural Resources and Anthropology of Maritime Societies, Riparian and Lacustres of the Amazon: Studies on human relations with their environment in Fish Stocks, this is an exploratory study that aims, through reports of fishing migrants residing in Belém to investigate the migratory process of fishing populations to the metropolitan region of Belém, attempting to evaluate, in the preliminary position, the situation of the migrant in the new place of residence and work; redeem the intermediate points on the axis between their sites of origin; and capture the current expectations of these fishermen in this new locus. In this way, indicators are sought that can define, concretely, the mechanisms that put pressure on the riverside and/or coastal fisherman to migrate; and, on the other hand, indicators of the impacts that are affecting the environmental resources of the ecosystems in which they shared directly.
