This work plan is part of the Project "Natural Resources and Anthropology of Maritime, River and Lake Populations in the Amazon; Study of the Relationship between Man and his Environment" - RENAS. The object of our study is the disciplining of the labor force in the fishing industry in Pará, and to accomplish this, we used two concepts, one is the "Time of Nature", characteristic of traditional farming and fishing societies, and the other is the "Time of the Clock", related to the conception of the labormodemo based on the factory discipline, in urban and industrial societies, which was established by capitalism in the mid-eighteenth century with the Industrial Revolution in England. In Pará, the industrial fishing pole is concentrated in the axis Belém - Icoaraci district, which is focused on the capture and processing of shrimp and piramutaba, whose destination is exportation. In the fish factory, the productive process is carried out in two sectors: production (sea) and processing (land), bringing as a consequence different degrees of disciplining for the workers. On the other hand, they try to create mechanisms to resist the control of their own time, where absences and delays are severely punished by the bosses. The methodology used in this study consists of direct observation, and the collection techniques used were oral accounts, open interviews with processing and production workers such as fishing bosses, fishing drivers, cooks, etc., unions, and other segments involved in the issue.
