The genus Senna (K.Bauhin) P. Miller in the Neotropics is represented by 206 species, many restricted to Brazil and some endemic to the state of Pará. They occur in diverse ecosystems, from floodable sandy fields to upland forests, some with very characteristic invasive potential. In older works, as well as in the material from the MG, IAN and R herbaria, the specimens are mostly referred to as belonging exclusively to the genus Cassia Linnaeus. However, according to recent studies by the specialists Irwin & Bameby (1982), several species have been framed in new combinations, and generic reallocations are frequent. This work aims to survey the species of the genus Senna occurring in the State of Pará, emphasizing the coastal campestral ecosystems. The taxon in question, according to the surveys done, is present in 42 municipalities, being represented by three sections, through 10 series, in which the following species are included: S. alata (Linnaeus) Roxburgh, S. bicapsularis (Linnaeus) Roxburgh, S. candolleana (Vogel) Irwin & Barneby, S. chrysocarpa (Desvaux) Irwin & Barneby, S. fruticosa (Miller) Irwin & Bameby, S. georgica Irwin & Barneby, S. hirsuta (Linnaeus) Irwin & Barneby, S. kuhlmannii Hoehne, S. latifolia (G. F. W. Meyer) Irwin & Barneby, S. multijuga (L. C. Richard) Irwin & Barneby, S. obtusifolia (Linnaeus) Irwin & Barneby, S. occidentalis (Linnaeus) Link, S. pendula (Willdenow) Irwin & Barneby, S. pilifera (Vogel) Irwin & Bameby, S. quinquangulata (L. C. Richards) Irwin & Bameby, S. reticulata (Willdenow) Irwin & Barneby, S. rugosa (G. Don) Irwin & Barneby, S. siamea (Lamarck) Irwin & Barneby, S. silvestris (Velloso) Irwin & Barneby, S. spinescens (Vogel) Irwin & Barneby, and S. tapajozensis (Ducke) Irwin & Bameby. Separation key, geographic distribution, ethnobotanical notes, discussion, and comments and illustrations of the most representative species are presented.
