The use of plant resources by Amazonian communities is an activity of great socio-economic importance, since most populations use these resources to meet many of their daily needs. The present study is part of the project Inventory of Plant Resources Used in the Microregion of Salgado in the State of Pará, which is inserted in the physiographic zone of northeastern Pará. Its objective was to survey, collect and identify plant species used by the community of Brasil Novo, in the municipality of Magalhães Barata, located near the access road to Km40 of Mocoóca (Maracanã). Information on the use of plant species was obtained through semi-open interviews with residents with recognized experience in their use and management. The species were identified by the method of comparison through the collection of the João Murça Pires Herbarium of the Emilio Goeldi Museum of Pará, as well as through literature. The occurrence of 90 families were recorded, distributed in 133 species used in family agriculture (field), civil and naval construction, hunting attraction, magic power, fruit, vegetables, medicinal, handicrafts (household utensils, personal adornment and musical instruments), tinctorial, aromatic, and the importance of the use of these species in the community's daily life.
