This ecosystem is in a good state of conservation, except along the road connecting the city of Bragança to Ajuruteua beach (36 km long, municipality of Bragança) where anthropogenic impacts created by the construction of the highway can be observed. After a review of the reference bibliography, field work was done to collect sediments with a mud auger and geomorphological reconnaissance with satellite scenes. The samples were analyzed in the laboratory of the CCTE, using traditional practices (crushing, sieving, granulometric analysis ...) and obtaining graphs and tables. The work was complemented by the initiation to remote sensing and training for map digitization. The sediments analyzed are typical of mangroves, with a clayey texture and low proportion of silt. In the vicinity of Ajuruteua beach one can observe sandy accumulations characteristic of beach environments. The Bragança peninsula represents a characteristic feature of the Paraense riffle coast, with numerous relicts between Salinas and the Maranhão border. The interest of the study of the sector is to observe directly in the field the consequences of an anthropic action that destructures the ecosystem. This action is all the more serious in view of the recognized sensitivity of the ecosystem to natural impacts and its vulnerability to anthropic actions, especially in view of the socioeconomic function of mangroves for traditional populations. A costa nordeste do Pará apresenta uma sucessão de estuários e penínsulas cobertas por manguezais. Este ecossistema encontra-se em bom estado de conservação, salvo ao longo da estrada que liga a cidade de Bragança à praia de Ajuruteua (36 km de extensão, município de Bragança) onde se observam impactos antropogênicos criados pela construção da rodovia. Após uma análise da bibliografia de referência foram feitos trabalhos de campo para coleta de sedimentos com trado de lama e reconhecimento geomorfológico com cenas de satélite. As amostras foram analisadas no laboratório do CCTE, usando práticas tradicionais (destorroamento, peneiramento, análise granulométrica ...) e obtenção de gráficos e tabelas. Os trabalhos foram complementados pela iniciação ao sensoriamento remoto e formação para digitalização de mapas. Os sedimentos analisados são típicos de manguezais, com textura argilosa e baixa proporção de silte. Nas proximidades da praia de Ajuruteua observam-se acumulações arenosas características de ambientes praiais. A península de Bragança representa uma feição característica da costa paraense de rias, com inúmeras réplicas entre Salinas e a fronteira do Maranhão. O interesse do estudo do setor é o de observar diretamente no campo as consequências de uma ação antrópica desestruturante para o ecossistema.
