Os sítios arqueológicos estudados no presente trabalho estáo localizados no baixo curso do rio Cassiporé, na parte setentrional do Território Federal do Amapá. Trata-se de sítios-cemitérios da Fase Aristé, segundo denominação e classificação de Evans e Meggers (1), um complexo cultural arqueológico de distribuição geográfica e duração determinadas.
