Using an ethnomusicological approach and based on a survey of ethnographic collections and ethnographic research, we seek to highlight the particularities of the Ka'apor drum and its performative aspects, in parallel with other membranophone instruments in other indigenous and quilombola contexts. O presente estudo aborda o tambor dos indígenas Ka’apor, povo falante de língua do tronco Tupi, habitantes da Terra Indígena Alto Turiaçu, Maranhão, Brasil.
