Resumo:
This article reflects on practices of Portuguese language and literature in high school in Rio Grande do Sul from the curricular framework of the state of Rio Grande do Sul Lições do Rio Grande (2009). The objective is to reflectively report the experience of the classes taught following the curricular reference mentioned in both the Portuguese Language and Literature subjects in High School, during the supervised internship in Letters. The methodology used for the writing of this work is qualitative research, in which the bibliographic review of the reference itself and of other articles about it was carried out, in order to evaluate the adequacy or not of the planned classes. The main conclusions are related to the fact that the plans of mother tongue and literature try to encompass the guidelines of the referential, but still find it difficult to overcome the old practices centered on the teaching of grammar and literary periodization in high school
