The main purpose of this research is to understand what pedagogical possibilities are used by teachers as resources for playful activities in a kindergarten II class, and what the challenges are for these education professionals to offer a quality education. To deepen this investigation, the specific objectives became: (a) to contextualize playfulness in early childhood education; (b) to identify the pedagogical possibilities proposed with the perspective of effecting children's learning through the habit of playing in the kindergarten II class; and (c) to analyze and discuss the challenges faced by teachers for a quality playful teaching. To answer the proposed objectives, a survey of bibliographic sources was conducted on teaching methodologies for playfulness in early childhood education, as well as documents from various sources available in scientific articles, monographs, dissertations and theses, websites, blogs, and others. A bibliography review was also carried out on cross-cutting studies about games, cognition, and curriculum documents. As well as, semi-structured interviews and class observations. The present research reached the goal of exploring the pedagogical practices used by teachers in kindergarten II classes for the promotion of children's learning, considering that it was possible to identify the main pedagogical practices developed by teachers; as well as the pedagogical possibilities for an effective learning of children through the habit of playing, and this also as a primary activity of the playful proposals and the challenges faced by teachers. A formação lúdica possibilita ao educador conhecer novos métodos pedagógicos e, como sujeito social, permite abrir espaço para que o mesmo venha a conhecer suas possibilidades, quebrar barreiras e ter uma visão mais nobre sobre a importância do jogo e do brinquedo para a vida da criança. A presente pesquisa tem como objetivo maior compreender quais as possibilidades pedagógicas utilizadas pelos docentes como recursos para atividades lúdicas em uma turma de maternal II, e quais os desafios apontados por estes profissionais da educação para ofertarem um ensino de qualidade. Para o aprofundamento desta investigação, os objetivos específicos tornaram-se: (a) contextualizar a ludicidade na educação infantil; (b) identificar as possibilidades pedagógicas propostas com a perspectiva de efetivar a aprendizagem das crianças por meio do hábito de brincar na turma de Maternal II; e (c) analisar e discutir os desafios enfrentados pelos docentes para um ensino lúdico de qualidade. Para responder aos objetivos propostos foi realizado levantamento de fontes bibliográficas que versam sobre metodologias de ensino apontadas para a ludicidade na educação infantil, além de documentos de fontes diversas disponíveis em artigos científicos, monografias, dissertações e teses, sites, blogs, entre outros. Foi também realizado revisão da bibliografia sobre estudos que transversa sobre jogos, cognição e documentos curriculares. Assim como, entrevistas semiestruturadas, observações de aulas. A presente pesquisa alcançou o objetivo de explorar as práticas pedagógicas utilizadas pelos docentes nas turmas do maternal II para a promoção da aprendizagem das crianças, considerando que foi possível identificar as principais práticas pedagógicas desenvolvidas pelas professoras; bem como as possibilidades pedagógicas para uma efetiva aprendizagem de crianças por meio do hábito de brincar, e esta também como atividade primordial das propostas lúdicas e os desafios enfrentados pelas professoras.
