Resumo:
It analyzes the professional profile of the librarian, his training and the profile of the professional legal librarian who works in the justice organs in the State of Pará. This competencies and skills are discussed by this professional. The general objective of this work was to identify the profile of the legal librarian and the specific objectives were: to identify the profile of the legal librarian acting in the State Justice organs in Belém, Pará; To point out how they acquire knowledge to act in legal libraries and to analyze the competences of AALL present in the librarians of the State Justice of Belém do Pará. The research method used was exploratory and descriptive. In order to carry out the data collection, in order to identify and analyze the profile of the legal librarian who acts in the judicial organs in the State a questionnaire was used divided in three sections. The first section refers to the personal profile of the respondent, the second to the profile regarding the acquisition of knowledge and the third seeks to investigate the perception regarding the competencies of the legal librarian and obtained a response from 16 legal librarians. The main results point to a professional attentive to the activities carried out by the legal librarian who list the competencies desirable to this professional according to the American Association of Legal Libraries (AALL).
