The choice of this theme comes from the importance of the discussion about women's empowerment. For the accomplishment of the research, the covers of the mentioned magazines were selected, as well as a bibliographical survey, considering the sign in the process of understanding the image reading. For this, we approach-or studies developed by the theorists as PIERCE (2010), BAKHTIN (2009) and PÊCHEUX (1999). The article deals with the symbolic aspect that is part of the thirdness of the Peircian theory in which the relevant issues behind the images are discussed. Este artigo tem como objetivo principal analisar as capas das revistas SuperInteressante, edição 349, publicada em Julho de 2015 e ELLE Brasil, veiculada em dezembro de 2015. A escolha deste tema se dá pela importância da discussão acerca do empoderamento feminino. Para realização da pesquisa, foram selecionadas as capas das supracitadas revistas, assim como um levantamento bibliográfico, considerando o signo no processo de compreensão da leitura imagética. Para isso, aborda-se-ou estudos desenvolvidos pelos teóricos como PIERCE (2010), BAKHTIN (2009) e PÊCHEUX (1999).
