The methodology adopted is based on the research action, on the qualitative approach that allowed a reflection and greater approximation in relation to my object of study, as techniques were used the interview and participant observation, based on Gil (2008), Chizzoti (2003) among others. The theoretical approach is based on Freire (1997), Gadotti (2007), Souza (2012) and several authors that are explained throughout the work fomenting these ideas. This research serves as knowledge and identification of how the teachers' practice of the said field happens and its implications and contributions in the process of teaching learning, and in the life of the students, in the sense of reflecting and reviewing the applied methodology and the true role of the school in the society. Therefore, it is necessary that this modality of teaching has a less assistentialist and more reflective and critical, always respecting the particularities of each subject so that it can be understood in its totality. A presente pesquisa visa ampliar a compreensão da prática pedagógica docente na Educação de Jovens e Adultos, especificamente, no Centro Estadual de Educação de Jovens e Adultos, o qual apresenta uma metodologia de ensino personalizada, a partir de um levantamento teórico acerca das políticas públicas da EJA buscando delinear o processo da prática pedagógica e o compromisso docente. A metodologia adotada está baseada na pesquisa ação, na abordagem qualitativa que possibilitou uma reflexão e aproximação maior em relação ao meu objeto de estudo, como técnicas foram utilizadas a entrevista e observação participante, baseadas em Gil (2008), Chizzoti (2003) dentre outros. O enfoque teórico está fundamentado por Freire (1997), Gadotti (2007), Souza (2012) e diversos autores que são explanados ao longo do trabalho fomentando essas ideias. Essa pesquisa serve como conhecimento e identificação de como acontece a prática dos professores do referido campo e suas implicações e contribuições no processo de ensino aprendizagem, e na vida dos alunos, no sentido de refletir e rever a metodologia aplicada e o verdadeiro papel da escola na sociedade.
