Introduction: Hospitalizations for Primary Care Sensitive Causes (ICSAP) represent a group
of indicators of hospital activity that are used as an indirect measure of the functioning of
primary health care in Brazil. Hypertension and diabetes mellitus are included in this list,
because they are chronic evolutionary morbidities that require continued care in primary
health care. Objective: To analyze hospital admission rates due to primary care, hypertension
and diabetes mellitus in the Pará. Methodology: This is an ecological, transversal, quantitative
study whose data were collected from the tabwin application. The variables collected were the
data of hospitalizations for diabetes mellitus and arterial hypertension, from 2008 to 2017.
The data were stored in the database of the program Microsoft Excel and statistical analyzes
were performed in the program biostatis 5.3. Results: It was observed that hospitalization
rates and mortality due to hypertension and diabetes mellitus in the State did not change
significantly during the study period. Conclusion: This requires the implementation of health
policies and care lines for people in chronic clinical conditions, as well as strengthening the
health care network in the State, in order to generate positive impacts in reducing these
indicators. |
