OBJECTIVE: This study aims to understand nurses' perceptions about nursing consultation in antineoplastic chemotherapy and to analyze the implications of the perceptions observed for nursing care to patients submitted to chemotherapy. METHODOLOGY: This is a descriptive study, with a qualitative approach, developed from April 2017 to June 2018 with 05 nurses from the chemotherapy department of HUJBB / UFPA, Belém, Pará. Data were obtained by a semi-structured interview and the analysis of information through the thematic analysis of Bardin. RESULTS: It was evidenced that the nurses researched have prior knowledge about the concept of SAE and its use during the consultation, but the subject is still synonymous with uncertainties among them. In addition, recognition of the importance of consultation in cancer care to foster therapeutic adherence, formation of nurse-patient relationship, design of care, institutional and domicile guidelines, but the realization of the same is still due to difficulties related to the service and the assisted public. CONCLUSION: The information obtained in this study contributes to the training practices of these professionals in order to optimize nursing care in the unit studied, through nursing consultation. It also clarifies the need to adapt the dynamics of the service to strengthen the nursing consultation and to discuss topics of oncology and antineoplastic therapies still in undergraduate studies, albeit in a preliminary way. INTRODUÇÃO: A assistência de enfermagem ofertada ao paciente em tratamento antineoplásico através da quimioterapia, especialmente através da consulta de enfermagem, se destaca como essencial para o cuidado qualificado em oncologia, fomentando a adesão terapêutica. OBJETIVO: O estudo visa compreender as percepções de enfermeiros acerca consulta de enfermagem na terapêutica quimioterápica antineoplásica e analisar as implicações das percepções observadas para o cuidado de enfermagem a pacientes submetidos à quimioterapia. METODOLOGIA: Trata-se de um estudo do tipo descritivo, com abordagem de natureza qualitativa, desenvolvido no período de abril de 2017 a junho de 2018 com 05 enfermeiras do serviço de quimioterapia do HUJBB/UFPA, Belém, Pará. Os dados foram obtidos por meio de entrevista semiestruturada e a análise das informações realizada por meio da análise temática de Bardin. RESULTADO: Evidenciou-se que as enfermeiras pesquisadas detêm conhecimento prévio sobre o conceito de SAE e sua utilização durante a consulta, porém o assunto ainda é sinônimo de incertezas dentre as mesmas. Além disso, constatou-se o reconhecimento da importância da consulta na assistência oncológica para fomento à adesão terapêutica, formação de vínculo enfermeiro-paciente, o delineamento de orientações de cuidados, institucionais e a domíclio, mas que a realização da mesma ainda perpassa por dificuldades relacionacionadas ao serviço e ao público assistido. CONCLUSÃO: As informações obtidas neste estudo contribuem para direcionar as práticas de capacitação destas profissionais afim de que ocorra a otimização da assistência de enfermagem na unidade pesquisada, através da consulta de enfermagem.
