Introduction: Sexual violence against children is defined as the involvement of a child in
sexual activity that does not fully understand, does not have the capacity to give informed
consent or for which the child is not prepared for development and can not consent to or
violate social laws or taboos. They experience violence in all phases of childhood and
adolescence, in many configurations, often through the hands of people they trust and interact
with daily. Objective: To analyze sexual violence against children narrated by the print
media in the metropolitan region of Belem. Method: This is a documentary, descriptive,
retrospective study with a quantitative approach. Editions of the newspaper O Liberal were
consulted published in the years 2015 to 2017, with notes on sexual violence against children
occurred in the Metropolitan Region of Belem. Data were analyzed through descriptive
statistics, presented in the form of tables. Results: A total of 1,095 copies of the newspaper O
Liberal, relative to the months of January to December of the years 2015 to 2017, were
selected. A total of 225 notes were selected that report violence against children throughout
Brazil, where 42 refer to sexual violence against children in the metropolitan area of Belem
(64.29%), followed by Ananindeua with (16.67%). The neighborhoods of the capital of Pará
are highlighted. Benguí, Guama, Marambaia, Outeiro and Tenoné, as the most violent. It was
verified that the majority of cases occurred in the age groups between 10 and 12 years old
(43.58%), with predominance in females. It was verified that (42.42%) of the cases of
violence were perpetrated by known persons and (15.15%) were by stepfather, and if we add
family members (Stepfather, father, brother, cousin, niece) we have 27.27%) of the cases.
There was a predominance in cases of rape of vulnerable (52.38%). Regarding the place of
occurrence, the victim's residence (43.24%) was the place of greatest incidence, followed by
the abuser's home (16.22%). Conclusion: It was concluded that sexual violence against the
metropolitan woman of Belem, based on the world of news published by the newspaper O
Liberal, was constructed in the domestic environment, perpetrated by people who are male,
and with the family bond, with strong brand of gender inequalities, when 96% of the cases
are girls, being raped and typified as vulnerable rape and living in the suburbs of Belem. And
that besides forming a painful reality, causing enormous damages to the growth and
development of this public, being able to be short, medium and long term and provoking
physical, psychosocial disorder that is reflected in the adult life. In this context, the nurse who
is the professional with greater presence in the care setting needs to be prepared to act, must
know how to carry out actions of identification, prevention, guidance, assistance to victims
and notification of the grievance. |
