It is a communication tool that helps to gain immediate knowledge of the evolution of labor and includes information on fetal heart rate, uterine size, drug use, and other important factors. Therefore, the partogram is essential for the follow up of the birth. However, it is observed that partograms are not always fulfilled in their totality. Thus, the present study aims to analyze the difficulties found by professionals who provide assistance to women in labor regarding the use and completion of partograph based on published articles. It is a literature-type research based on the search for articles published in full. The inclusion criteria used were: full text available, in the LILACS, SCIELO, MEDLINE and BDEnf database, in Portuguese, of the types articles, theses and monographs, from 2008 to 2018. After the bibliographic search, only 7 articles were part of the study because they provided more relevant information on the use of the partogram. For the analysis and discussion of the results found in the bibliographic survey, the following categories were elaborated: Insufficient knowledge about the partogram filling; Inadequate communication among professionals; Inadequate understanding of the importance of partograph and quality care; and difficulties in the use / completion of the Partogram by the professional attitude. After the discussion, it was concluded that the difficulties in the use and full filling of the partograph goes beyond just a difficulty in knowing how to fill out, involving many more factors. Therefore, although it is a obligation, it is still a challenge for the proper use of the partograph. Therefore, it is believed that this research was considered positive for the improvement of care, trying to unravel and ease the difficulties in using and filling the partograph. O partograma é uma representação gráfica do trabalho de parto, visto como um excelente recurso visual para observar a dilatação do colo do útero e apresentação fetal em relação ao tempo. É um instrumento de comunicação que ajuda a obter conhecimento imediato da evolução do trabalho de parto, além de incluir informações sobre a frequência cardíaca do feto, dimensão uterina, uso de drogas e outros fatores importantes. Por isso, o partograma é essencial para o acompanhamento do parto. Entretanto, observa-se que os partogramas nem sempre são preenchidos em sua totalidade. Desta forma, o presente estudo tem como objetivo analisar as dificuldades encontradas pelos profissionais que realizam assistência à mulher no trabalho de parto quanto à utilização e preenchimento do partograma com base nos artigos publicados. Trata-se de uma pesquisa do tipo revisão de literatura com base na busca de artigos publicados na íntegra. Os critérios de inclusão utilizados foram: texto completo disponível, na base de dados LILACS, SCIELO, MEDLINE e BDEnf, em português, do tipo artigos, teses e monografias, no período de 2008 a 2018. Após a busca bibliográfica, fizeram parte do estudo apenas 07 artigos por trazerem informações mais relevantes quanto à utilização do partograma. Para a análise e discussão dos resultados encontrados no levantamento bibliográfico, foram elaboradas as seguintes categorias: Conhecimento insuficiente sobre o preenchimento do partograma; Comunicação inadequada entre profissionais; Entendimento inadequado quanto a importância do partograma e assistência de qualidade; e dificuldades no uso/preenchimento do Partograma pela postura profissional. Após a discussão, concluiu-se que as dificuldades no uso e preenchimento total do partograma vai além de apenas uma dificuldade no saber preencher, envolvendo muito mais fatores. Portanto, apesar de ser uma prática obrigatória, ainda é um desafio o uso adequado do partograma.
