Piratuba and Maresia lakes and Rêgo do Duarte Igarapé are inside of the Lakeside East Belt on the coastal plain of the Amapá state. Presented in an extremely dynamic region, with hightidal schemes associated with strong currents, including the phenomenon of Pororoca (Tidal waves). Boasting an average annual temperature of 26ºC and rainfall ranging from 450 mm in the rainy season (March – June) and 40 mm in dry season (August – November), the Amapá coastal plain is classified as a tropical region. Geologically, the Amapá coastal plain has a sedimentary Cenozoic cover, formed in the Tertiary Barreiras Group and fluvial-marine sediments of Quaternary. The data and sedimentologic collection was held in 2006/November under the project “Subsídios ao Plano de Manejo da Reserva Biológica do Lago Piratuba”. In Piratuba lake was generated a bathymetric chart and a block-diagram (3D Surface) which results in a bottom micro-morphology. The results of the profiles analysis classify the Maresia and Rego do Duarte in as environment of flat morphology. The analysis of sediments founded in the Eastern Belt Lakeside (Piratuba, Maresia and Rêgo do Duarte lakes) showed that their grain size varies from silto to clay-silt and may the lakes are characterized as low-energy environments and receivers of fine sediments. |
