A Pedreira São Jorge is located in the rural municipality of Muribeca (If) and is installed in a strategic point for distribution of ore in the region (85 km from Aracaju, 210 km from Maceio and there are 9 km of Federal Highway BR-101 ) important corridor flow of northeastern Brazil products. It is a granite rock mining for producing crushed stone and is considered one of the largest quarries region. The granitic body explored by the Company is part of the complex intrusive rocks Granite Type Glory, which occurs in Macururé Domain "Flexing range Sergipana" (FDS). We analyzed the mining method, the types equipment that are part of the company's machinery and the production cycle adopted by it. The study for the efficiency of the São Jorge Pedreira production cycle is applicable to any mining company, regardless of its size and production volume. Field work showed that there is idle capacity in machinery and equipment necessary for unloading and loading, as well as the crushing plant, causing an increase in costs produced ore. In this work we proposed changes in the allocation of machines and trucks and small but significant improvements in equipment, which will enable the reduction of idle, reaching close to zero, resulting in increased profits and lower costs.
