The following were evidenced: shallow stratigraphy, granulometric parameters, organic matter content and calcium carbonate. The results of both sediment samples were classified as muddy sediments, with predominance of the coarse silt fraction deposited in an environment with very high hydrodynamics. The organic matter content levels varied from 1% to 7% with a mean of 0.04% for ANP-S85 and 1% to 7% with a mean of 0.01% for ANP-S104. Calcium carbonate levels ranged from 0.44% to 3.38% with a mean of 1.73% for ANP-S85 and 0.25% to 4.10% with a mean of 1.89% for ANP-S104. The analysis made it possible to infer that the sediments present in the continental slope of the mouth of the Amazon can have two possible sources originating mainly from the continental input such as rivers along with material produced by organisms in smaller scale, or by sediments present in the Andean regions, carried mainly by flows gravity. Este trabalho objetiva caracterizar a sedimentação recente do talude continental da foz do Amazonas, com base em dois testemunhos sedimentares do tipo piston corer. Foram evidenciados: a estratigrafia rasa, parâmetros granulométricos, teores de matéria orgânica e carbonato de cálcio. Os resultados mostram que os sedimentos são lamosos com predominância da fração silte grosso. Os teores de matéria orgânica variaram de 0,13% a 0,87% com média de 0,04% para o testemunho ANP-S85 e 0,34% a 0,90% com média de 0,06% para o testemunho ANP-S104. Os teores de carbonato de cálcio variaram de 0,44% a 3,38% com média de 1,73% no testemunho no ANP-S85 e 0,25% a 4,10 % com média de 1,89% para o testemunho ANP-S104. A análise possibilitou inferir que os sedimentos presentes no talude continental da foz do Amazonas podem ter duas possíveis fontes oriundas principalmente do aporte continental como os rios juntamente com material produzido por organismos em menor escala, ou por sedimentos presente nas regiões andinas, transportados principalmente por fluxos de gravidade. 2019-09-24T17:12:37Z 2019-09-24T17:12:37Z 2019-07-11 Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso - Graduação MARTINS, Larissa Alves.
