In many cases attracting people's attention and motivating them in their daily tasks, mainly in
order to increase productivity, has been a noticeable challenge in the industrial context and
academic environment, since routine actions tend to cause demotivation to individuals. Given
this situation, there have been some studies that use gamification in education and in business
processes aiming to supply or minimize such problems. Gamification focuses on the idea of
motivating or improving the members' engagement while awakening the pleasure of being
immersed in games, also fostering competition among the participants, aiming at achieving
pre-established goals and results. Considering this context, this paper aims to present a
proposal of a teaching-learning methodology for the algorithm discipline of the Information
Systems course of the Federal University of Pará, Campus Castanhal, with the use of elements
of gamification, in order to assist the students' learning, since the environment can stimulate
motivation, arouse the engagement, pleasure and competition in a healthy way among the
students facing the difficulties faced by them in the learning of this discipline, so the
environment proposed in this work can to be an important resource to be used in the
educational process, since it may have the capacity to minimize the rate of disapprovals and
even the withdrawal of some students following the discipline. |
