The bibliographical research (SEVERINO, 2017) resulted in the mapping of 30 texts referring to the subject studied, which were analyzed through qualitative research (LÜDKE; ANDRÉ, 1986 e BOGDAN; BIKLEN, 1999). First we present the results of the mapping, which institutions published on the subject, who were the authors, the methodologies used by them and which areas of knowledge have supported the understanding of the subject. Subsequently, we present a brief overview of what is Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), anchored in Brazilian law, the history and characterization of the same. We also discuss the importance of music and the curricular documents that base musical education on the Brazilian scene. Finally, we analyzed the articles found and we discuss how the publications in the area are and what is the importance of music for the development of autistic people. We conclude that the dyad Musical Education and Autism still needs more attention on the part of the academic Community, because there are still few publications in the area, and research needs to increase, in order to provide greater opportunities for musical education to individuals with ASD. However, despite the few researches in the area, it was possible to diagnose, through the publications found, that music in relation to the treatment of autistic people has many benefits, among them stand out, the improvement of the interpersonal relationship and the acquisition of verbal and vocal confidence. For, as we know, the social-affective área and speech are one of the problems that most autistic individuals present. Este trabalho apresenta resultados de uma pesquisa bibliográfica que teve como objetivo investigar a relação entre Educação Musical e o Transtorno do Espectro Autista (TEA) em publicações realizadas nos portais da ANPED, ANPED NORTE, Capes, SciELO, EDUCERE, Fórum Internacional de Pedagogia (FIPED), Revista Brasileira de Educação (RBE) e Revista Música Hodie, de 2014 a 2018. A pesquisa bibliográfica (SEVERINO, 2007) resultou no mapeamento de 30 textos referentes à temática estudada, os quais foram analisados por meio da pesquisa qualitativa (LÜDKE; ANDRÉ, 1986 e BOGDAN; BIKLEN, 1999). Apresentamos primeiramente os resultados do mapeamento, quais instituições publicaram sobre a temática, quais foram os autores, as metodologias utilizadas por eles e quais áreas de conhecimento têm embasado compreensões sobre o tema. Posteriormente, apresentamos um breve panorama do que é o Transtorno do Espectro Autista (TEA), ancorado na legislação brasileira, o histórico e a caracterização do mesmo. Abordamos também sobre a importância da música e os documentos curriculares que baseiam a educação musical no cenário brasileiro. E, por fim, analisamos os artigos encontrados e discutimos como estão as publicações na área e qual a importância da música para o desenvolvimento de pessoas autistas. Concluímos que a díade Educação Musical e Autismo ainda necessita de maior atenção por parte da comunidade acadêmica, pois ainda existem poucas publicações na área, e é necessário que as pesquisas aumentem, a fim de possibilitar maiores oportunidades de educação musical aos indivíduos com TEA. No entanto, apesar das poucas pesquisas na área, foi possível diagnosticar, por meio das publicações encontradas, que a música em relação ao tratamento de pessoas autistas tem muitos benefícios, dentre eles destacam-se, a melhora do relacionamento interpessoal e a aquisição da confiança verbal e vocal.
