This paper presents an approach of the discourse of historical monument and memory during the period known as Belle Époque in the city of Belém. It is assumed that this past discourse would have in its background the idea of heritage, which in part compose the current concept of cultural heritage – and of its preservation. Using the Discourse Analysis methodology, it was used the municipal reports (1897-1902) of Antônio Lemos to discuss the trajectory of the cultural heritage and its preservation ideas development, articulating with the safeguard of cultural heritage within and outside the museum. |
