The study of the public is an important tool for evaluating and creating new strategies
for receiving public museums, and presents data that allow us to understand the
relationship that individuals have with a museum. In this research develops a study of
the public in the surrounding area and the Museum of Sacred Art of Bethlehem
(MAS), to identify educational activities that can be developed in this museum which
favor increased significantly and the interest of visitors. Therefore it was necessary a
study of the public with the publics actual and potential museum to give subsidies to
the directions of the construction of the Museum Education Project (MEP). The
Museum of Sacred Art of Bethlehem was chosen as the site of this study, as one of
the most visited museums in the city of Belém do Pará In order to meet the public
and real potential of this museum, the extension project of the Federal University of
Pará , "Ex Ducere: creating links between Museum, University and Community"
conducted a study of the public through interviews with thousands of people who live
and / or working in the vicinity of the museum type survey using questionnaires and
collaboration of 26 volunteers. Data were analyzed from a hermeneutic
phenomenological approach to understanding the reasons why these people do not
come to the museum and create new strategies for mediation and communication
between museum and community, based on the theoretical knowledge of the field of
Museology and from these interlocutions propose new educational museum. |
