This work intends to reflect some relationships between devotional art and popular Catholicism through the domestic oratories, whose objective is to understand the devotion to the saints from the oratories located in the houses of two riverside of Campompema River - islands of the municipality of Abaetetuba. We know that as oratories practice devotional oratories are spaces destined to the cult of the saints, demanding from their caregivers certain care of preservation that runs from generation to generation, in this sense we identify that it is an art linked to devotion. Through the study is also intended to identify the question as regards image and imaginary if they are strictly present in the daily lives of people who have oratories in their residence, as well as understand the art of doing through the patron's feast which is one of the ways through which the devotees maintain their personal and communal relationship with the saint, identifying whether the sacred and the profane go together in the same period. However, although the number of oratories on the islands of Abaetetuba is smaller than before, it is clear that there is still a lot of care, respect and devotion to the existing ones. The oratorios are part of the daily life of the caretaker of santo and his relatives, who intend to continue this culture passing from generation to generation. |
