Resumo:
The present work thematizes the relationship between curriculum and culture in the constitution of the identities of the students of the initial series of the basic education of ECLAC, in order to provoke reflections on the local culture and the curriculum under the critical bias. The objectives are: to identify what aspects of local culture are present in the curriculum of the ECLAC school, to reflect the inclusion of aspects of local culture in the school curriculum and how the identities are constituted from the local culture. I used the studies of MOREIRA (2003), SILVA (2002), HALL (2000), and other authors who also discuss the theme. The research used the qualitative method of the ethnographic type to observe the relationship between local culture and curriculum. The results obtained indicate that the local culture is partially inserted in the curriculum and is passed through contents of the subjects of History and Geography, about commemorative dates and the local history of the festivities; the identities of the students are constituted in the daily life of the school life from the experiences, the contact with the other and the knowledge of oneself and the local culture immersed in the curriculum.
