The objectives are: to identify what aspects of local culture are present in the curriculum of the ECLAC school, to reflect the inclusion of aspects of local culture in the school curriculum and how the identities are constituted from the local culture. I used the studies of MOREIRA (2003), SILVA (2002), HALL (2000), and other authors who also discuss the theme. The research used the qualitative method of the ethnographic type to observe the relationship between local culture and curriculum. The results obtained indicate that the local culture is partially inserted in the curriculum and is passed through contents of the subjects of History and Geography, about commemorative dates and the local history of the festivities; the identities of the students are constituted in the daily life of the school life from the experiences, the contact with the other and the knowledge of oneself and the local culture immersed in the curriculum. O presente trabalho tematiza a relação entre currículo e cultura na constituição das identidades dos alunos das séries iniciais do ensino fundamental do CEPAL, com o intuito de provocar reflexões sobre a cultura local e o currículo sob o viés crítico. Os objetivos são: identificar que aspectos da cultura local estão presentes no currículo das séries iniciais do ensino fundamental da escola CEPAL, refletir a inclusão de aspectos da cultura local no currículo escolar e como as identidades são constituídas a partir da cultura local. Utilizei os estudos de MOREIRA (2003), SILVA (2002), HALL (2000), e outros autores que também discutem a temática. A pesquisa utilizou o método qualitativo do tipo etnográfico para observar relação entre cultura local e currículo.
