Located at northeast from the Belém capital, the region of Benfica District (Benevides County) is passing by environmental pressure because of the urban occupation that focuses, in particular, about the transition area between the hilly geomorphological system, at south and southeast, and the floodplains system. The accompaniment and the control of the urban expansion depends on the adequate geological-geomorphological bases; thus, the main goal of the research was to interpret the forms of the relief and to produce a geomorphological map, tentatively in the 1:30.000 scale, featuring the existing Groups and Reliefs Systems. The identified problems in the area from Benfica district, Murinin and Marituba was the expansion of the population in allotments or invasions, occupying the areas of “lower areas” near to “rivers” and “streams”. In these places there is risk of siltation and floods, as well as the degradation of the resource base with the exploration of clay by the potteries. In this work there is also a modern and innovative attempt, in which tries to integrate the discussion of geological-geomorphological imprint to the legal environmental normativity, to know, the Principle of Precaution. In this way, this project intends, with an approach applied from the Geology, to answer the necessities of the Environmental Law, aiming the supply to the legal and geological communities with transdisciplinary products that constitute subsidies to make more objective the defense of the environment and also the hermeneutic related to the application in concrete cases, in a context, as it were, of “Geolaw.
